Education/Training: We continually update our training to better serve you. Most dentists receive 15-20 hours per year of continuing education. Dr. Barber has averaged nearly 80 hours per year since becoming a dentist. Some years he has approached 200 hours.

Attention To Detail: Over the years, we have discovered that optimum oral health is achieved by doing what we refer to as Complete Dentistry. To achieve this, you will receive the most complete and thorough examination that you have ever had in your life. We will then gather records which help us to properly analyze, diagnose and provide a long-term plan to help you achieve optimum oral health and have the smile you desire.
Experience: It is important to note that the number of years in practice is not necessarily an accurate indicator of true experience. For the most part, if a dentist does the same things for 20 years, and never advances his/her knowledge or improves the techniques used, then the “experience” is stagnant and is not really experience at all. One may have 20 years of experience or two years of experience for 20 years... there is a big difference. True experience comes from continually advancing one’s craft. Continuous learning and improvement lend well to a practitioner’s experience level.

Dr. Barber began his dental career by completing a General Practice Residency (GPR). The majority of dentists do not complete this advanced level of training. Some dental educators say that participating in a GPR allows the dentist to enter dental practice about 5 years ahead of his peers. Combined with 13 years in practice where continuous improvement has been a benchmark, Dr. Barber has the experience to provide the best dental care available today.
Wise Use Of Technology: Many dentists will purchase the latest gadgets on the market and use them to draw patients into their offices. While this is a great marketing tool, history has shown that the latest technology is not always what the sales people guarantee. Dr. Barber very carefully chooses which technological advances to use in his practice. Technology is a wonderful thing, as long as it is used wisely.
No Smoke and Mirrors: Consumer beware! There are dental offices that cleverly use large marketing budgets, paid endorsements and big advertising campaigns to lure patients into their offices. In some instances, beauty pageant contestants, athletes or other celebrities are falsely portrayed as long-time patients or as having had a smile makeover. The truth is that their endorsement was purchased and no real cosmetic dentistry was ever really done.

Dr. Barber has studied extensively with specialists in all areas of dentistry. His achievement of Board Certification by the American Board of General Dentistry is testament to this. As a result, we refer fewer than 2% of our patients to other offices for treatment.
